This stuff is AWESOME. As a cloth-diapering mom, it is the ONLY diaper rash ointment I will use. With cloth diapers, all other diaper rash products containing zinc oxide also contain cod liver oil. Once cod liver oil gets into cloth diapers, it is a LOT of time and labor to get the fish smell out.
The zinc oxide in this product is not derived from cod liver oil and therefore leaves no residue and no odor in our diapers. I love the fact that I can pronounce all the ingredients and that there are no chemicals leaching into my daughter’s skin. She doesn’t get diaper rash often, but when she does it’s terrible. This stuff clears it right up, while Desitin, A&D and even Boudreaux’s Butt Paste never did.

When my son was a newborn, he had dry patches on his cheeks, forehead, ears, nose and chin that would get red & bumpy. This cream really helped to get rid of the dryness and irritation/rash. He’s outgrown the dryness & rashes but it’s still a great facial moisturizer for him and helps speed the healing of any little scratches he may accidentally self-inflict on himself with his sharp little nails. I’ve also used this as a diaper cream (obviously with clean hands and no double-dipping) after bathtime and it works great. It seems expensive but a little really goes a long way. And, I like that it has natural, non-irritating ingredients and no chemicals.

Probably one of the world’s best inventions, Vaseline. But, this tube is just fantastic for babies. We bought these for our newborn and it’s just so much easier to use when you’re putting it on the baby’s belly button. Plus, it’s best for preventing diaper rash than anything else out there on the market. When your hands are dry from washing them after EVERYTHING you do with the baby, the Vaseline comes to the rescue. This tube is a marvelous invention and the best sanitary-wise to use for a baby. I keep one in my purse for my dry hands too. Love this invention!

Triple Paste is SO superior to any of the name brands you find at the store. It’s a thick white formula that goes a long way. Certainly pricier than some of the mainstream brands, but when my babies have rashes, I want it cleared up immediately and this does the job. Within one or two diaper changes, the rash is gone! Other brands I’ve tried (Desitin, Butt Paste, and A&D) do not work for me and sometimes make the rash worse. The only other brand that I think as highly of is Dr. Smith’s Diaper Paste–I’m indifferent btwn that and Triple Paste b/c both are so effective (and the consistency and look are identical, so I’m guessing they’re very similar formulas), so I buy whichever is cheaper.

I’ve had a feeding tube for over 8 years and had a *severe* problem with breakdown of the stoma right at the beginning that left me very prone to leakage and thus site breakdown. Over the years I’ve done and used just about everything in attempts to (1) prevent breakdown and irritation and (2) heal it quickly when it happens. (I really mean everything–all the way to constant stomach decompression–suction–and using a modified ostomy bag.
During a recent hospital stay the breakdown appeared and got ugly quickly as my body simply had no resources to deal with it. The wound care nurse was called in and “designed” a dressing that began with stoma powder, Calmoseptine, and then more stoma powder. While the dressing had to be changed frequently for the first few days (because the stoma leakage was almost nonstop) the positive change in the wound was visible within 36 hours–that awful read, meaty look gave way to just an irritated look on a significant portion of the wound. Further within 72 hours the area looked amazingly improved and within 5 days it looked, well, wonderful.
Calmoseptine just plain works–and without stinging upon application or any odor. It’s think enough to stick but spreads easily. As far as I’m concerned it should be in everyone’s wound care bag.

We started with Butt Paste since someone bought it for us, but quickly switched to Desitin. My son’s first and only diaper rash thus far was so red and chapped – he cried every time I changed him (I did too!). Desitin saved us! His rash started looking better after 1 day’s use and totally cleared up in 3 days. Desitin comes out of the tube easy, spreads easy (a MUST when a baby is already so tender), absorbs well, locks out moisture and it smells good. We use it every night before bed and every time my son’s bottom looks a little pink and it’s totally clear by the next diaper change. It’s all I use now!

my who has severe ecezma so he has very sensitive skin and I have tried many different brand diaper rash cream on him but none of the work. Until someone recommended me trying this one and sure enough this one works really well. After switching my son’s butt is no longer red and rashy. I love this product!
